Building muscle first is the key to any long-term fitness and health goal.
Reason being, it has so many factors that attribute to everything else:
Weight Loss
Hormone Health
Metabolism
Bone Health
There aren’t many forms of exercise that even come close to this type of effect, it truly can work wonders in a lot of different ways.
Lifting weights doesn’t have to take all day either, lifting 2-3x week for 45-60 minutes can be more than enough if you haven’t done much before hand.
With the goal of losing weight/fat, building metabolism is especially important as it can keep you burning calories at rest. If you can burn more calories at rest, then you will have an easier time keeping the fat off which is the biggest problem of all.
Build muscle and strength first and let the other processes happen as they happen.
